G2 ENERGY are one of the few companies in the UK that are
able to offer a complete Earthing Design Service ; from initial
site investigations, to studies of existing earthing systems,
through to complete earthing design utilising industry recognised
CDEGS computer software; we also offer the full installation
of the new earthing system.
Sub Station Earthing Ensuring a safe and effective earthing system at
each and every sub station is an essential requirement of any transmission
or distribution network.
The sub station earthing system is the electrical electrode to assist in
the dissipation of high voltage and current potentials to the ground zero
potential during fault conditions whilst the fault current seeks a path back
to its source.
This is defined as Earth Potential Rise (EPR) and must be limited so
that step and touch potentials at the sub station and surrounding area are
controlled within acceptable limits to ensure the safety of operational
staff and the general public that may be near the sub station during fault
conditions.
Site Testing G2 ENERGY have a number of DNO and National Grid
competent and authorised personnel able to work within live sub station
compounds, able to undertake surveys and testing including soil resistivity
tests, fall of potential tests, tracing of existing earthing and provide
condition assessment reports of existing installations.
Modeling Software G2 ENERGY utilize industry recognised CDEGS
computer software to model the earthing system and ensure a safe, compliant
earthing design. Modeling allows analysis of step and touch potential,
ensuring the design to be optimized to reduce costs.
Earthing Remedial and Installation works G2 ENERGY employing
competent and authorised staff to work within live substation compounds,
and also have senior authorised staff if safety documentation is
required, enabling them to complete almost any aspect of earthing remedial
work or new installation work.
