The primary objective of the present study was to evaluate the neuropharmacological effects of Couroupita guianensis (Lecythideace) Aubl. (CG) flower. There are scanty reports on neuropharmacological effects of this plant in literature; hence the present work investigated its anti-depressant, anxiolytic, anti-stress and nootropic activity in animal models. Anti stress activity was tested in Swiss albino mice and Sprague awly rat using acute restraint stress and chronic cold restraint stress model respectively.
