In current geotechnical practice, the design of a fiber reinforcement project requires the testing of specific specimens reinforced with fiber, which can be time consuming. The traditional design approach to fiber-reinforced soil requires testing on fiber-reinforced soil samples. This has probably discouraged the use of fiber reinforcement technique in geotechnical practice. The material in the book is written for people on several levels. Much of it is introductory to an engineer, but it serves to link engineering principles with practicalities. The book is not intended to be a traditional text. Most of this book provides a balanced treatment between the basics and experimental concepts of geotextiles and geo-fibers.
