SYNOPSIS
The objective of this project is made for hand operated handicap tricycle. This project is very useful for physically challenged persons for using key to move one place to another place. A tricycle is a wheeled mobility device in which the user sits and drive. The device is propelled manually propulsion steering. Tricycle is used by people for whom walking is difficult or impossible due to illness (physical), injury, or disability. We have designed a project called propulsion steering tricycle for handicaps to overcome such difficulties. It runs mechanism of crank and slider and may reverse motion achieve by this mechanism.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The elements of a typical three-wheel bicycle design are shown in figure. Behalf of pedaling in normal tricycle, a propulsion steering mechanism is used to drive the tricycle for handicap usages. Specialty of propulsion steering are driving, steering control and reverse drive of cycle. The driving of tricycle is achieved by slider crank mechanism.
The crank link coupled in between rear wheels. A slider and crank link is coupled by connecting rod. The slider link is hinged with steering. When steering is oscillated in hinge support, slider tends to rotate crank in rear wheel. Forward and reverse drive can be achieved in this tricycle. Feature of cycle can be driven single handedly and maximum speed can be reached.
