The System at a glance
The customer who wishes to seek a room in the hotel is first directed to the receptionist. Based upon his requirements, the receptionist first checks the status of the room by querying for it in the database of the hotel. If the room is available, the receptionist then proceeds to the reservation process for allotting the room to the customer. The customer then check-in to the hotel.Incase of unavailability of the room, the customer is either asked for his preference (i.e. if he wishes to change hispreference) or else is notified regarding the unavailability of the room.
Administrators
The administrator maintains daily updates in the hotel records. The administrator is an authorized user. He can log into the system only after punching in the right user ID and password.
The Room Screen
An unique Room ID is generated whenever a room is booked for the customer. The Room ID further gives details regarding the type of the room booked, the description of the room, the rate incurred in using the room for the desired time slot and finally the status of the room. In case the room is being used by a customer, the status of the room will read as ‘Occupied’. Similarly, other statuses included are ‘Unoccupied’, ‘Under-Maintenance’, etc. Only the Administrator has access to the above screen.
