introduction
A bearing is a device to allow constrained relative motion between two or more parts, typically rotation or linear movement.
Due to the relative motion between the two parts , there is friction and wear.
To reduce the friction and wear a lubricant is provided between the two parts.
What are flexural bearings
A flexure bearing is a bearing which allows motion by bending a load element.
A typical flexure bearing is just one part, joining two other parts.
A flexure bearing relies on the bearing element being made of a material which can be repeatedly flexed without disintegrating.
Types of flexural bearing
Flexural pivot bearing
Linear flexural bearing
Rotary flexural bearing
Applications of pivot bearing
PERPENDICULAR MIRROR
Four or eight free flexural pivots used in a parallelogram will maintain a mirror or other optics perpendicular to any surface for applications that require lateral motion.

Applying an AC current to the coil, which is placed in a magnetic field, the coil/piston component will move back and forth along the axial direction due to the electromagnetic effect
Because all the driving force in a linear compressor act along the line of motion, there is no sideways thrust on the piston.
This reduces the common problems of friction , wear , noise , vibration encountered in a reciprocating type of compressors.
. These advantages of linear compressor over reciprocating compressor have encouraged manufacturer to develop linear compressors for applications including domestic refrigeration
conclusion
Flexure bearings have the advantage over most other bearings that they are simple and thus inexpensive
. They are also often compact, light weight, have very low friction, and are easier to repair without specialized equipment
They are stiction free , require no lubrication.
Flexural bearings overcome the disadvantages of other traditional bearings.
Flexural bearings have wide applications where micro precision level accuracy is required.
