Abstracts: In most of the practical cases, Flood frequency analysis is carried out due to the safe design of hydraulic structures. Estimate of river floods with different return period is essential for designing hydraulic structure. Statistical distributions are used to estimate floods in basin which have statistical data. To derive the probability of occurrence of flood, the frequency distribution which could best describe past magnitudes of such floods were tested. This involves the determination of best flood frequency method from available historical data. Methods like Gumbel, Log Pearson Type 3 California and Powell Method are used for estimation of peak flood. This project represents the result of Flood frequency analysis for Tapi River at Gauging site Ukai Dam. The Flood frequencies of 5, 10,15,20,25 year Floods was analyzed by probability methods .This project aims to compare four methods of Flood frequency analysis to find the optimum method in terms of safe design of hydraulic structures
