Abstract
Environmental impact of energy on environment to combat global warming and the other problems associated with fossil fuels, we must switch to renewable energy sources like sunlight, wind, and biomass .This project discusses an innovative process that is being applied in various industrial applications worldwide, which is Fluidized Bed Combustion. Fluidized bed combustion (FBC) is a process in which solid particles of fuel and inert materials are suspended in a high-velocity air stream that creates a highly agitated mass resembling boiling water. According Fluidizing bed combustion type. Fluidization creates a turbulent mixing condition that enhances good combustion. The specific characteristics of the process are dependent on the size of the particles, bed temperature and fluidizing velocity. Fluidized-bed combustion is considered a viable technology for reducing reliance on oil and natural gas. FBC-based systems can generate process steam, heat, and electric power from coal and other solid fuels of various qualities in an economical and environmentally acceptable manner. This project consists of various chapters including a general introduction about FBC, types of fluidized beds, fluidization components, combustion, design of fluidized bed, characteristics of solid particles, and basics of boiler control.
