GRID SUB STATION BY MOBILE CONTROL
Objective- our aim is to make a miniature model of a grid sub-station and to control its working by using mobile. The working of a “gss” includes its efficient transmission , distribution and protection.
Technical details-
“The assembly of apparatus used to change some characteristics (e.g. Voltage ac t o d c freq. p.f. etc) of electric supply is called sub-station”
Necessities components for a substation:-
(A) Outdoor switch yard :-
a) Incoming lines
b) Outgoing lines
c) Bus bars
d) Transformers
e) Insulators
f) Sub station equipment such as circuit breakers, insulator, earthing strips, lighthing arrestors, CTs, PTs ,isolator, clamps & connectors.
g) Overhead earth wire shielding against lighthing strokes
h) Galvanised steel structure for flowers, gantries, supports
i) PLCC equipment including wave trap, turning unit coupling capaciter etc
j) Cntrol cables for meterning protection & control
k) Road, railway track
l) Capacitor bank
m) Station lightening system
(b) Battery room D.C. distribution system:-
i) D.C. lead acid batteries & charging equipments
ii) D.C., distribution system

work stages-
First of all we will construct a rigid and a properly earthed base.
Collecting various equipments that are needed to be installed in gss.
Calculating the total expenditure and then the Testing of equipments is to be done.
Draw a single line diagram for the proper connection of various equipments.
Protection of equipments
Controlling distribution and fault detection by using a suitable software “ “
Coding of software is done in mobile.
Work distribution-
We are a group of four members that’s why we have assigned our work in 4 parts.
Collection and testing of various equipments( transformer,feeders, circuit breakers etc)
Connection of various equipments as per single line diagram.
Installing a dc battery room for supplying necessary power
Fault detection and removal of fault by coding in software.
