1. It is advisable to keep the HTL machine in dust free zone. Accumulation of slightest amount of dust can be the reason for failure of foil adhesion and bubble formation / water mark during charging operation.
2. Before starting any HTL operation, the rubber roller should be gently cleaned with dust free fresh hosiery cloth and also before any change of foil so that any residual colour remaining on the roller’s surface cannot be transferred to successive foil surfaces.
3. Only scotch tape is recommended for HTL foil adhesion testing.
4. Please note that foil roll should be stored in moisture as well as temperature controlled room to avoid any unwanted damage of the foil.
If there is any remaining foil after operation, the foil should be wrapped with polyethylene wrapper, the silica gel packet should be kept inside the wrapper to avoid any ingress of moisture inside the wrapper to protect the foil from moisture-induced damage.
Please note that any sudden increase of temperature above ambient temperature will lead to sticking of foils in roll, resulting in discoloration of foil during HTL transfer operation. It is advisable to keep the foil at ambient temperature.
5. HTL foil adhesion test should be either after sufficient cooling of the HTL substrate or minimum 5 minutes of HTL operation, otherwise there is a high probability of adhesion failure during testing.
Warning: To check adhesion of foil not immediately after foiling but only after proper cooling of foil.
6. To ensure the desired quality, it is mandatory to check adhesion randomly in three HTL containers at every startup and also after every hour. Based on this feedback, foil adhesion checking frequency will be reviewed after one or two months.
7. Foil roll should be handled with precaution. It is to be noted that the paints used in making HTL foil is very sensitive to high pressure resulting in delamination of pigments. So donot carry two or more foils in one hand or one foil over another as pressure generated between two rolls can damage the whole roll resulting in huge rejection. Hence carry only one foil at a time.
