INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS AND AUTOMATION
COMPANY PROFILE
• Established in the year 1982 by Mr. M.R. Tilwalli.
• Started with repairs & maintenance of older systems.
• The flagship product of the company : Thyristorized DC Drive.
• Later the company started making products like Torque Motor Controllers, Vibrator Feeder Controllers, Timers, SSRs,other Machine Dedicated Controls, etc.
• Now, it has emerged as the leading system integrator of GE automation products. They now cater to various industry segments like Oil & Gas, Power, etc.

PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRONIC DESIGNING
• CALCULUS is a mathematical tool which can help in making calculations simpler and more accurate.
• Concept of approximation : physical meaning to any curve.
• The electronic components are excited to get a desired response.
• Desired response : differential & integral equations.
• Direct applications : Charging & Discharging of a capacitor ,inductor, 3 phase system, evaluation of a diode’s recovery time, or a thyristor’s characteristics, etc.
How these basics add to designing ?
• Most of us wonder how these few basics add to the designing of a circuit.
• Sine wave : signal > vectorially > phasor > follows superposition > can be represented in frequency components ( Fourier series )
• Calculus : analysis of a response in small analytical methods.
• Thevenin’s theorem : representation of a complex network in terms of a voltage source VTh & RTh.
• A simple power supply circuit can be designed easily with these basics…….
TIMER CIRCUIT
• used for pneumatic control, alarms, industrial processes, running a machine etc.
• A flip flop is the basic fundamental block in providing data storage and transmission .
• An oscillator on the other hand provides clock pulses to the flip flop which can be used to trigger the flip flop, oscillator operates on the Barkhausen Criterion.
• FLIP FLOP + OSCILLATOR = TIMER CIRCUIT
VARIOUS ICs used in PRODUCTS…..
• 555 IC : timer and multivibrator applications.
• 555 name from the three 5-KΩ resistors used in typical early implementations.
• Widely used :ease to use, low price and reliability.
• Includes 23 transistors, 2 diodes and 16 resistors on a silicon chip installed in an 8-pin mini dual-in-line package (DIP-8).
• operates mainly in two modes —monostable (one-shot) multivibrator or as an astable (free-running) multivibrator. In the monostable mode.
ULN 2003 IC: 7CH DARLINGTON SINK DRIVER
• high−voltage, high−current darlington drivers comprised of seven NPN darlington pairs.
• All units feature integral clamp diodes for switching inductive loads.
• Applications include relay, hammer, lamp and display (LED) drivers.
• HEF4060B :14-stage ripple-carry binary counter/divider and oscillator. with three oscillator terminals (RS, RTC and CTC).
• ten buffered outputs (O3 to O9 and O11 to O13) and an overriding asynchronous master reset input (MR).
• The oscillator configuration allows design of either RC or crystal oscillator circuits.
• The oscillator may be replaced by an external clock signal at input RS.
• The counter advances on the negative-going transition of RS.
• A HIGH level on MR resets the counter (O3 to O9 and O11 to O13 = LOW), independent of other input conditions.
• Schmitt-trigger action in the clock input makes the circuit highly tolerant to slower clock rise and fall times.
LM2904,LM358/LM358A, LM258/LM258A consist of two operational amplifiers
• Designed specifically to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltage.
• Operation from split power supplies is also possible
• The low power supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the power supply voltage.
• Independent, high gain, internally frequency compensated.
• Application: transducer amplifier, DC gain blocks and conventional OP-AMP circuits (which now can be easily implemented in single power supply systems).

A BRIEFING ON AUTOMATION
• Industrial Automation : use of control systems and information technologies.
• reducing the need for human intervention.
• a step beyond mechanization.
• Automation plays an increasingly important role in the world economy and in daily experience.
• Has a notable impact in a wide range of highly visible industries beyond manufacturing.
• automated telephone switchboards , electrocardiography or radiography and laboratory analysis, Automated teller machines.
HOW AUTOMATION TAKES PLACE……
• Its an amalgamation of software and hardware implementation of a machine.
• Logics are created in ladder fashion, or block diagram etc…
• Then are written in pro logic controllers via protocols.
• Or are displayed on QPTs in case of designing of panels
• The PLCs are placed in the Panels which control the machines or plants……
