HP cylinder is a two parts casing I.E. inner and outer. Inner has very high steam pressure. To balance this high pressure it is kept in outer casing. This process will reduce the flange thickness and steam leakage.
Stationary blades (or Guide blades) are inserted in the inner casing in T-groove. Sealing housing with Labyrinth sealing is also assembles to avoid leakage of steam.
In H P Rotor, Moving blades are fitted in T-groove . Labyrinth sealing is also manufactured . Coupling holes are made in Flange of Rotor. Sealing Housing with
Labyrinth sealing are also fitted.
Impulse and reaction forces takes place on moving and guide blades by gliding of steam. In some design power is extracted from impulse force of steam in first stage of blade. There is no 100 % impulse or reaction turbine.
