Abstracts: India is a home to hundreds of species of wild animals, reptiles, and thousands of birds. The diverse climate and landscape make it an ideal place for the great Indian wild animals. The rivers and the dense forests of the India add to the ecosystem, encouraging further growth of animals in India. Indian wildlife has been neglected and if India is to save its vanishing heritage, active endeavors are essential for conserving the Indian forests. Laws exist to protect the wildlife from slaughter and to regulate hunting, but unfortunately, the legal measures do not fully serve the desired purpose. India has over 80 national parks, 442 sanctuaries, 1,228 bird species, 1600 reptile and amphibian species, 500 mammals and 57, 000 species of insects. Many projects are running for saving animals like tiger, lion, etc... Researchers are also being done to find new species.
