INTRODUCTION
Safety is an important property for many kinds of product systems and services.
While implementing this project we need to know where the fault frequently arises.
In this project we are concentrating on temperature and voltage.
The Sensors gather the values and sends the information to the microcontroller continuously. The microcontroller receives the values and sends the corresponding values to the LCD to display.
Power Supply
In this section there is a requirement of
one voltage level i.e. 5V DC power
supply
LM35 SENSOR
A sensor is a device that measures a physical quantity and converts it into a signal which can be read by an observer or by an instrument.
LM35 is a Precision Centigrade Temperature Sensor.
MCP3204ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER
Here in this project we selected SPI protocol based MCP3204 ADC.
In this project ADC is used to convert analog voltage sent by the temperature sensor to digital voltage.
The Microchip Technology Inc. MCP3204 devices are successive approximation 12-bit Analog to- Digital (A/D) Converters.
For this we have to use four different port pins to communicate the ADC.
FUNCTIONALITY
In this process as we have to reach our requirement by assigning certain Set-Points for both the sensors to monitor (Ex; Temperature-32 degrees).
If the Temperature Sensor gets the value above the set-point the microcontroller drives the LED1 ‘ON’ as an indication.
At the same time if the Temperature sensor gets the value below the Set-point the controller drives the LED2 ‘ON’.
If the Voltage sensor gets the value above the set-point the controller drives LED3 ‘ON.’
If it is below the set-point the LED4 gets ‘ON’ with the help of the controller.
