X-ray Diffraction
XRD analysis
XRD measurements were carried out at room temperature on an X-ray diffractometer model no. Make – seifert; XRD 3000 PTS with scanning rate of 0.08o /min using CuKα radiation (λ = 1.5406 Å). The 2θ Bragg angles were scanned over a range of 20o-80o . The XRD pattern of Ba2Co2Fe28O46 powders sintered at 950o C for for 4 hrs is shown in figure 1. The XRD pattern of prepared ferrite polymer composites with different mass ratio 9:1, 8:2, 7:3, 6:4 and 5:5 are shown in figure 2(a,b,c,d,e). The crystalline phases of the sintered samples were identified by X-ray powder diffraction using Powder –X software. The XRD patterns were indexed with the standard patterns for X-type hexagonal crystals (JCPDS). The nature of XRD patterns shows the formation of X-type phase. All the diffraction peaks were indexed in agreement with the reported hexagonal crystal structure. Lattice constants a and c of prepared ferrite polymer composites were calculated using eq.1
Experimental Results and Discussion
X-type hexaferrite with chemical composition Ba2Co2Fe28O46 were prepared by using reverse co-precepitation method. The prepared samples were mixed with PVA (poly vinyl alcohol) in different mass ratio 9:1, 8:2, 7:3, 6:4 and 5:5 to prepare ferrite polymer composites. The prepared samples were characterized using FTIR, XRD, SEM and dielectric measurements. The details are as follows.
