INTRODUCTION
India is an agriculture country and it is the source of living. In dry area or incase of low rainfall irrigation becomes difficult, so “Automatic plant irrigation system” has been lunched.
This model uses sensor technology with ARM Microcontroller to make a smart switching device.
The model shows the basic switching mechanism of water motor using sensors from any part of the field by sensing the moisture present in the soil
WORKING
This project consist of three stage namely sensor circuit, ARM controller unit and motor driver circuit
Sensor circuits sense the condition of a soil and compare the voltage with the reference voltage .i.e.5v this is done 1µ timer 555.
The condition of soils is less than the reference voltage 1µ timer send the high signal to the Arm Controller, this will turn on the motor circuit and makes the motor to pump water to the field or crops
When the soil becomes witty, greater than reference voltage 5v the timer send signal to the Arm controller which will turn off the motor circuit and stop pumping the water to the field.
The conditions of motor and soils are displayed in the LCD screen
The procedure is repeated whenever there is need of water to the field
ADVANTAGES
Relatively simple to design and install.
It is safest system and no manpower is required.
The system helps to farmer or gardener to work when irrigation is taking place, as only the area between the plants are wet.
Reduce soil erosion and nutrient leaching.
The system need smaller water sources, as it consumes less than half of the water.
Fertilizers can also be provided by using the system.
PH content of the soil is maintained
FUTURE EXTENSION
The working of project is basically dependent on the output of the humidity sensor. Whenever there is need of excess water in the desired field then it will not be possible by using sensor technology. For this we will have to adopt the DTMF technology. BY using this we will be able to irrigate the desired field and in desired amount.
