Abstracts: This thesis presents the experimental work/project done on studying the effect of process parameters in surface grinding process at Chemfilt, V. U. Nagar. Surface grinding is one of the important process used extensively in the finishing operations. Surface finish is the important output response in the production with respect to quantity and quality respectively. We applied combined Design of experiment (DOE) via ANOVA and Taguchi methodology to determine optimum parameters for minimum surface roughness in surface grinding process. The experiments are conducted on Surface Grinding machine with Design of experiment and L9 Orthogonal array with input machining variables as Depth of cut, Dressing and Coolant flow rate. The conclusion is useful to select right combination of machining parameters to achieve an optimal surface roughness ‘Ra’ value. It also formulates an empirical relationship between the surface roughness values and the input parameters
