India’s Relation with other Countries
Introduction
Being a globalized Economy ,social relationship is not only necessary but mandatory.
India has formal diplomatic relations with most nations.
It is the world's second most populous country, the world's most-populous democracy and one of the fastest growing major economies.
India is a newly industrialized country, it has a long history of collaboration with several countries and is considered one of the leaders of the developing world along with China, Brazil and Russia.
Strategic relation’s of India
India has established strategic partnerships with several countries. What exactly "strategic partnership" means is not defined or explained officially
It does not amount to an alliance, which is a relationship based on a formal document- a treaty- that carries legal obligations for the signatories.
Strategic partnership with some countries, which have importance in terms of their international role, while others are important for India bilaterally.
Its interest was to maintain good relations with countries from both blocs and get benefits from both.
Examples: Relation with Russia and France
India’s Military Relations
India has strong military relations with Russia , Israel, France, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, United States.
Russia is the largest supplier of arms which gives 82% of the arms which India imports. Israel and France comes after Russia in supply.
Also there has been deals between India and United States. Many Planes has been bought by India. Latest is C-17 Military transport aircraft. Nuclear relation in which an agreement is signed which is called ‘123 agreement’
India is world’s largest importer of arms. And has a $32.5 billion defense budget and imports more than 70% of arms.
Conclusion
India's relations with other countries. In 2001 India's relation ship with most of the bordering countries excluding Pakistan was growing.
Also in the relations between India and China is also slowly progressing in a positive way. Although both countries have had some military struggles there has also been peace.
