Project Report on The Study of PTO Aluminium Plate Leakage
Study of PTO Aluminium.docx (Size: 1.98 MB / Downloads: 19)
During are study in rear axle assembly we have analyzed that there is leakage of lubricant from the PTO aluminium plate mount on centre housing and ‘K’ bore(rear face of centre housing).
Due to this leakage lose of lubricant from the tractors and also effected on tractors quality as heavy dust accommodation at the leakage area.
High cost of repair adversely affect to the farmer’s income as farmer is not able to take its tractor regularly to the repair shop.
The company face about its 5% of problem related to the leakage.Out of these PTO leakage from PTO plate and ‘K’ bore is major one.
Its a service problem. So i decided to take this problem as our project work and find out the possible cause that affecting it and way to get out of it.
But first i would to like velar you about PTO and its working...
What is P.T.O
A Power take off (P.T.O) is a splined drives shaft, usually on a tractor that can be used to propel the implements like rotavator or separate machine like generator & thresher etc. it is designed to be easily connected and disconnected.
P.T.O shaft is located inside the centre housing of the tractor, beneath the crown and pinion arrangement.
How it is work
The driving is the main shaft which is connected to the engine through clutch. When the engine starts the driving shaft rotate, for rotating PTO shaft the driver shaft must engage with the driving shaft through coupler by pulling the lever or PTO shifter to engage position.
