Microemulsions offer potentially efficient drug delivery system because of their high solubilization capacity, thermodynamic stability and low globule size and hence they are widely used as a delivery vehicle to enhance uptake across nasal mucosa.
Microemulsions offer potentially efficient drug delivery system because of their high solubilization capacity, thermodynamic stability and low globule size and hence they are widely used as a delivery vehicle to enhance uptake across nasal mucosa. The project involved development of microemulsion based nasal mucoadhesive spray of lamotrigine with the specific advantage of enhanced solubility, rapid onset of action and ease of scale up for preparation. Additionally role of oil phase in microemulsion with respect to their solubilization capacity is evaluated.
