ABSTRACT
Electronic voting machine has now days become an effective tool for voting. It ensures people about their vote being secured. It avoids any kind of malpractice and invalid votes. Also such kind of system becomes more economical as consequent expenditure incurred on manpower is saved. It is also convenient on the part of voter, as he has to just press one key whichever belongs to his candidates.
INTRODUCTION
The " Electronic Voting Machine " basically consists of three main blocks.
1. Keypad: Keypad is basically a 4 X 4 matrix keypad. Thus it has one key specified for one candidate. The key given for candidate is pressed and micro controller senses the corresponding signal.
2. Micro controller: Micro controller senses the signal given from switches and decides the mode of operation in voting mode it increments the data for corresponding key i.e. respective candidate as well as it sends signal to display block to indicate one key is pressed.
3. LCD: Liquid Crystal Display which is commonly known as LCD is an Alphanumeric Display. Here we used 16*4 alphanumeric display to show the output.
BACKGROUND
EVM is device which is commonly used by most of the countries during the time of election. Earlier ballot system were used but due to advancement of technology machines are now used. The electronic voting systems have been modified over time and the design which I am attempting in my project is the latest technology which is most commonly used.
WORKFOCUS
My target was just to know that how the things are cascaded and made to work with 8051 and get well experienced in the field of microcontroller. And also to get some confidence so that I can do well in future related work with microcontroller.
METHODOLGY
1. Make a basic block diagram.
2. Make equivalent circuit of every block.
3. Make a circuit diagram
4. Write a program to fulfill the needful in C.
5. Test the program in simulation.
6. Buy the required components.
7. Implement it.
8. Troubleshoot, if needed.
