INSPECTION AGENCIES:
Export inspection agencies is the official certification body of the GoI
CG established five EIAs at Mumbai, Kolkata, Kochi, Delhi and Chennai
Apart from EIAs private inspection agencies have also been approved as inspection agencies

ROLE OF BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS
The Indian standards Institution (ISI) set up by the GoI in 1947 with the active support of Industrial, scientific and technological organization in the country later renamed as Bureau of Indian Standards, play a very important role in quality control
Problems in maintaining quality for exports
Lack of quality consciousness is a serious problem
One of the major problems in adhering to the quality levels required by the importing country is the difficulty in procurement of right type of raw material components etc needed for specific application
