Jamming of Navigation Systems, Final Report
ABSTRACT
This report renders an account of final results from the project ‘Jamming of Navigation Systems.’ A first version of a
simulation environment for robust navigation systems has been developed within the project. This simulation environment
can, among other things, be used for evaluating electronic warfare duels between a navigation system and disturbance system.
The project has implemented and analyzed robust navigation algorithms. In particular, a robust navigation system, based on
GPS, an Inertial Navigation System (INS), and a group antenna with beam forming has been simulated in complex scenarios.
With difficult jamming scenarios containing many (airborne) jammers, both a jamming protection in the form of a group
antenna with beam forming and fusion of information from GPS and INS are required. Different navigation and beam forming
algorithms together with different antenna geometries have been investigated by means of simulations in the jamming
scenario. A carefully prepared jamming strategy is required in order to put a robust navigation system out of action.
