NEED FOR NEW POWER GENERATING IDEAS
The survival of industrial undertakings and our social structures - on low cost and uninterrupted supply of electrical energy.
The advancement of a country is measured in terms of per capita consumption of electrical energy
FOUL MARK
The mark where the train’s speed i.e., fuel supply is cut off which is usually 1200m from junction for any type of service
Then the train moves only by moment of inertia
SOURCE OF ENERGY
The energy stored in the train cannot be fully recovered by regenerative braking.
We are going to tap that wasteful energy and convert it into electrical energy.
This method can be easily understood from the following block diagram
INNOVATION
Salient features
Construction of the train wheel
Construction of the rails
Foul mark point
Rail joints.
Our paper focuses on the generation of electrical energy in an innovative and simple manner
ROTATIONAL ENERGY TRANSFER
We are going to use Rotational Energy for our power generation.
When compared to other renewable resources like solar energy, fuel cell etc, the rotational energy has high efficient methods for producing electricity
CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRAINWHEEL
Consider the two rollers, one is rotating, and another is at rest. Once rotating roller touches the static roller here rotational energy is transferred to the static roller. Then the static roller rotates.
We can assume that the rotating roller as the train wheel, and the another roller as the static roller.
Construction of rails
In Indian railway, there are two types of rails used. One is 52 Kg and 60 Kg rails. The 52 Kg rail has less web length than the 60 Kg rails.
Location of the plant – Foul Mark
At this point, all the train speeds are decreased to 30 Km - 35 Km, and the fuel supply is stopped.
The minimum time to cross this point for each train is 3 minutes.
The time taken between two trains to cross that foul mark is 5 minutes. Therefore, we choose this point for our plant. Since the input speed is somewhat constant and it will be in tolerable limit
FLY WHEEL
To compensate the rest time, Flywheel is coupled in shaft.
A flywheel does not maintain a constant speed; it simply reduces the fluctuation of speed.
A flywheel controls the speed variations caused by the fluctuation of the turning moment during each cycle of operation
CONCLUSION
SINCE THE NEED OF THE ELECTRIC POWER IS IN GREAT DEMAND , WE AS ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS SHOULD BE IN THIRST FOR NEW IDEA OF POWER GENERATION.
AS ENERGY CAN never BE DESTROYED WE SHOULD TRANSFORM IT INTO THE FORM WE CAN USE.
