INTRODUCTION
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the project is to design and develop a communication system in the real time environment using LI-FI, such that it can communicate with maximum speed and with better efficiency.
DEFINITION
LI-FI is transmission of data through illumination ,ie sending data through a LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than human eye can follow
LI-FI (light fidelity) is a technology that can be a complement of RF communication(WI-FI or Cellular network).
It is a high speed , bidirectional and fully networked subset of visible light communication(VLC).
WHY ONLY VLC?
Gamma rays cant be used as they could be dangerous.
X-rays have similar health issues.
Ultraviolet light is good for place without people, but other wise dangerous for the human body.
Infrared, due to eye safety regulation, can only bse used with low power.
APPLICATIONS
Voice communication ,device switching and data transfer.
The remote control devices under the ocean: Radio wave doesn't work there.
Petro chemical plants: Radio wave data transmission is not secured there.
Street lights, traffic signals: For traffic update.
Aircraft cabins: For emergency conversations.
