Introduction
A lift system consists of a lift car and a lift motor which moves lift car between a plurality of floors
Control system-plurality of control nodes
One of the control nodes comprises a lift controller
Control nodes are connected by a communication means-serial connection,2 wire serial link
Lift controller operates in response to messages received from other control nodes which operates the lift motor
Manually operable control is provided in the car and at each plurality of floors served by the lift
Each control is connected by individual pair of wires to the lift control system
A trailing cable must be attached to the car to carry the connecting wires from controls of lift control system
User interaction
The user can be outside the elevator and waits for the elevator to arrive
Or the user can be inside the elevator and tells the elevator where he/she wants to go
Importance
Lifts have become a necessity to use in high-rise buildings since inception in growing cities
Lifts are machines that are prone to accidents, basically due to they move a lot and are of high maintenance
There is a need for lift in hospital to carry patients, doctors and physically challenged etc
In multi-complex buildings lifts are used to park cars
Future trends
Green lift control system-low energy consumption
Varies the lift kinetics
Reduces performance-while motoring
Increases performance-while generating
Consequently we can gain energy in both-without effecting passenger waiting and transit time
