Abstracts: The solar LED lights have been devoid of the intensity control function. The lack of intensity control in solar LED lights leads to unnecessary power consumption which implies that life span of the battery is reduced. In this project the whole system is consisting of four major components i.e. PV module, battery, solar charge controller and power LED lights. The PV module receives the solar light and converts it into electrical form (DC form). The battery gets charged with this energy through solar charge controller using PWM technology. The solar charge controller comprises of the MOSFET driver that would perform switching of current according to time duration of RTC (Real time clock). The duty cycle calculation i.e. ON-time and OFF-time of the switch; is the basis of programming the ATmega8 microcontroller. Therefore, this project will give good performance in terms of intensity along with avoiding unnecessary power consumption.
