Abstract-In this lab the goal is to become accustomed to building some simple BJT circuits in LTSpice and to work through some of the basic design processes for a CE amplifier. (Abstract)
Index Terms-BJT, CE amplifier. (Key Words)
I. Introduction
The first part of this lab is an LTSpice tutorial. This part of the lab not only assists in learning how to use LTSpice, but also gives some valuable information about the transistor "2N3904" being used. The information being gathered is the value for the current gain ($\beta$), the early voltage ($V_A$), and the frequency range that the transistor should be operating within in order to get the expected linear value. The second part of this lab, the values that were gathered in Part I. will be utilized to calculate the design parameters for a CE amplifier circuit. These calculated values will then be used to physically build and test the designed circuit.
II. Part I: Transistor Characteristics
A. DC Characteristics
1. To start the 2N3904 transistor is set up simply with a current and voltage source connected to the base and collector to display the characteristic curves for IC versus VCE.
