INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT
(1.1) “LET’S ENJOY WITH LEARNING”:-
As it is very difficult for parents to teach their children at the early age of their life .It is also very hard for them to teach their tiny tots with practical knowledge. Hence we develop software which helps them.
Our software “Let’s Enjoy with Learning” helps the guardians to teach their children by play way methods. With the help of our software children will learn very easily alphabets, numbers, tables, poems and stories.
Our software is enriched with multiple attractive images and sounds to teach them alphabets and numbers. It contains many poems and stories with attractive pictures and sounds so that children can learn easily without any burden on their sensitive age of life.
Our software contains many attractive pictures and clear sound for each letter in alphabets, counting of numbers and tables with sound.
It has many poems in Hindi and English with wonderful images and sound .It contain English poems like “johny-johny”, “baa-baa black sheep”, “humpty dumpty” and Hindi poems like “machali jal ki rani hai”, “natkhat chuha”, “aallo kachalo beta kaha gaye the” etc.
It also have many stories in Hindi and English .The English stories are “The Crocodile and the Monkey”, “The Crow and the necklace” and many more. The Hindi stories are “Imaandar lakhadhara”and “Hansini aur sone ke aande” and many more with exciting sounds and attractive images.
It gives the capability to the users to modify, insert and delete the poems and stories.
(1.2) WHY WE CHOOSE THIS PROJECT:-
In recent past time Learnning materials are store in the paper files and difficult to search or modify any record , for expanding and improving the conditions of Students’ Learnning infrastructure, Awareness of environmental issues and search for greater safety give to the student learnning a new role within the education system , I choose this project . As a result of these project initiatives phenomenal growth has taken place in all the activities of Students learnning, which includes the Stores department
(1.3) HOW IT IS DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS DEVELOPMENTS:-
To computerized the STUDENT LEARNNING is not an easy task .It is a cumbersome event. The problem here is to maintain a record of all the learning material. Firstly we identify what is the need of new system. What are the drawbacks of existing system? Why we should go for some new and updated system? At this preliminary survey or initial investigation is done regarding the system in question. The existing system has a number of drawbacks.
(1.3.1) EXISTING SYSTEM:-
Existing system is manual system. It requires a lot of file work to be done. It is a time consuming system. All customer information is maintained manually. Any searching requires so much effort manually.
The departments operate under a manual system to deal with the student Learnning. The primary function of the department is to retrieve the information related to Learnning.
(1.3.2) DRAWBACKS OF EXISTING SYSTEM:-
a) Data redundancy and formatting: The various files are likely to have different formats and therefore lead to redundancy and inconsistency.
b) Maintaining registers is costly: Traditionally documents have been stored in batches and they field in file cabinets and boxes. A numerical system is they assigned. Specifically a consumer number assigned to organize the files.
c) Error prone: Existing systems are error prone, since manual work is required. More time is consumed and errors may propagate due to human mistakes.
d) Low security feature: Due to maintenance's of records manually and shared and could view easily by anyone. Also these could be possible lose of data and confidential information due to some disaster in the form of fire, theft etc.
SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE (SDLC)
1.4.1) Feasibility study
Feasibility study is carried out to test is the proposed system is worth being implemented. Given unlimited resources and infinite time, all projects are feasible. Unfortunately, such situations are not possible in real time. Hence it becomes necessary and prudent to evaluate the feasibility of the project at earliest possible time in order to avoid unnecessary wastage of time.
Feasibility study is the test of the system proposed regarding its work ability, impact or organization’s ability to meet user’s needs and effective use of resources. It is usually carried out by a small group of people who are familiar with the information system technique; understand the part of business that will be involved and affective by the people that are skilled in analysis and design.
A feasibility study is conducted to select the best system that meets the performance requirements. This entails an identification description, and emulation of candidate systems and selection of best system for the job. The factors that should be included in the feasibility assessment can be as follows.
· Cost: operating, maintenance, unit
· Accuracy: frequency, significance and correction of errors
· Reliability: stability, durability
· Capacity: average, low and peak loads
1.4.1.1) Economic feasibility:
Economic analysis is the most frequently used method for evaluating the effectiveness of a candidate system. More commonly known as cost/benefits and saving that are expected from a candidate system and compare those with cost benefits outweigh costs, then the decision is made to design and implement the system. Usually cost benefits analysis is made to find the savings or extra overheads that would arise new development.
The technique of cost benefit analysis is often used as a basis for assessing economic feasibility. The factors for evaluation are:
- Cost of operation of existing system and proposed system
- Cost of development of proposed system
- Value of benefits of proposed system.
1.4.1.2) Technical feasibility:
Technical feasibility centers on existing computer system and to what extent it can support the proposed addition. This involves financial consideration to accumulate technical enhancement. E.g. if the current operating system is at 80% capacity and arbitrary ceiling then running another application could overload the system or require additional hardware. If the budget is serious constraint then the project is not feasible.
1.4.1.3) Operational feasibility:
The operational feasibility refers to the assessment of proposed system in the manner that how much this system is feasible for Customers and Employees which are end-users. The system should have capabilities in it. Th.at person with a simple knowledge can also use the system. Our proposed system is user-friendly interface. The Graphics User Interface provided in this project which uses the techniques of just “point and click” gives very good interface.
Our system will improve the performance and save the time. Also, it will help to remove the errors that may occur by the human operator. Human may undergo many mistakes in the busy schedule, crowdy and irritating environment
1.4.2) PLANNING PHASE
Problem Recognition
A problem is well defined very rarely. It corps out with a vague feeling of some statements that lead to vague conclusions. So the first task is to get more crucial information by interviewing and meeting concerned people. It clarifies how the problem is felt, how often it occurs, how it affects the business and which departments are suffering with this. This phase consists of the following tasks.
· Problem Definition And Initial Investigation
This was a preliminary investigation done with a view to have a “feel” of the working of the proposed system. This phase has been identified the end-user directly involved in the system who were the managers, assistant officer and database administrator, and the development department. By understanding the working of database, its flow and also after conducting meetings and interviews with the concerned persons of the department, a clear idea about the working was obtained. A flexible approach is adapted towards people who are interviewed. Short hand written notes are prepared based on the response of the employees. The interviews are preferably conducted at the work place of the person being interviewed. Detailed investigation is done in order to define the scope of the problem .The interview is concluded with a quick resume of the ground covered during the interview .The Questionnaire technique is combined with interviews to get the best result. Proper care has been taken in the design of such questionnaires so that the persons answering these questions does not feel hesitant. An explanatory note that serves to gain cooperation and avoid misunderstanding by setting out the purpose of the exercise clearly accomplishes each questionnaire.
Observation technique is also used for fact finding. The work described at the time of interview is observed personally ads it reduces the chances of misunderstanding and omissions. By the end of this phase, idea as to how the information enters the system, how it is stored, how it is processed, how information changes affects the working of the system and finally the output format required by the end-user was collected. All the information generated from this phase acted as an input to the next phase.
1.4.3) System Analysis
1.4.3.1)Introduction:
Analysis is a detailed study of the various operations performed by a system and their relationship within and outside of the system. In journal view system is collection of people, procedures and equipments. People are not an important component of any information system. Information is produced and used by people in an organization in their everyday activities to make decisions. Information system establishes procedures ensuring that right people receive right data at right time. These procedures determine what is to be done at it enter and passed through the system. System analysis is the method that is used to analyze the system, design them and build them. Analysis is used to gain an understanding of existing and what is required in system. The analysis phase ends with the system description and a set of requirement of the new system. Analysis is a process of diagnosis the situation with the boundaries of system kept in mind to produce a report based own findings. Planning for information system development is done within in the framework of organizations overall MIS plan.
1.4.3.2)Identifiaction of Need:
Detailed information requirement analysis of organization is collected from present system. Time tells the difference. Computerized organization is the today’s demand. In comparison to the old system, the computerized system is more reliable and cost effective. In the present organization, the data is scattered whereas the data should be integrated at one place so that the modifications can be made easily and it becomes easy for any authorized person to get information from these files.
To make data consistent the organization need to be automated. The main requirement that can be viewed from here can be as follows:
1. compete records of Complaints
2. Details of Surcharges applicable to product
3. Complete records of product.
4. detailed timing schedule
Preliminary investigation:
To meet the above-mentioned requirement, we need a system that has the tools of Microsoft .NET environment. It should be a simple system with better interface because the user going to use it are not much familiar with these kind of systems so it should be a simple, easy to use an understandable to all persons.
Objectives:
(i) Efficiency: when all the work is done by computer then it will increase the efficiency, so all the activities will be done fustily
(ii) This system also save time for making the route of desired journey
At present time, every person is in hurry, nobody has spare time. Every passenger wants quick service. With this software, every passenger will avail every type of services.
1.4.4) System Design
1.4.4.1)Introduction:
The design phase focuses on the detailed implementation for the system recommendation in the feasibility study. The design phase is a translation from a program-oriented-document to user-oriented-document. The design activity begins when the required document for the software to be developed is available. This may be SRS for the complete system, in case of waterfall model is being followed or the requirement for the next iteration, if the iterative enhancement is being followed or the requirement for the prototype if the prototyping is being followed. Design is essentially the bridge between requirement specification and the final solution for satisfying the requirements. The term “design” is used in two ways, when used as a verb it represents the process the designing while it represents the result of design process. The goal of design process is to produce some order, which can be later used to build that system. The produced model is called the design of the system.
The design of the system is essentially a blueprint or a plan for solution for the system. Here we consider a system to be asset of components which clearly defines the behavior that interacts with each other in a fixed define manner. A component of a system canbeconsidered as a system with its own components. In a software system a component is a software module.
The design process for software system has two levels, Top level and logical design. In top level, it is indicated that how the modules should be integrated. Logical design expands the system design to contain more detailed description of processing logic and data structures.

1.4.5) Implementation
It is one of the main modules of the project development stage. All the work done as earlier comes near to end when I am going to implementing the project. I tried my best to fulfill all the requirements of the Railway Enquiry System. However, implementation can be taken finalize the testing procedure. But if we implement the project there is not any standardized procedure to check the testing while implementation give us chance to test if there is any problem, it can be taken remedies so we can finalize the project, using implementation and reviewing techniques. So far, this project is concerned; it is free from errors and can be implemented very effectively.
1.4.6)Testing:
Testing is a dynamic method for verification and validation, where the system to be tested is executed and behavior of the system is observed. Due to this, testing observes the failures of the system, for which the presence of faults can be deduced. However, separate activities have to be performed to identify the faults and then remove them.
There are two approaches to testing, functional and structural. In functional testing, the internal logic of the system under testing is not considered and the test cases are decided for the specifications or the requirements. It is often called black-box testing. In structural testing, the test cases are decided entirely on the internal logic of the program on module being tested.
The external specifications are not considered. Mutation testing is another approach for structural testing that created mutants of the original program. The testing criterion is to kill all the mutants by having the mutant generate a different output from the original program.
Unit testing is used to test a module and the focuses are combined into sub-systems which are then tested. The goal here is to test the system design.
Structural testing can be used for unit testing, while at higher level mostly functional testing is used.
During the test case, execution phase the test cases are executed and various reports are produced for evaluating testing. The main output of the execution phase is the test log, the test summary report and the error report.
1.4.7)Maintainence:
Maintenance is a provision, which includes both the improvement of system functions and the correction of faults which arise during the operating of system. Maintenance activity may require the continuing involvement of a large proportion of computer resources. When we install the software, chances arise in two ways
· As a part of normal running system where errors are found, user may ask for improvement or external requirements change. As a result of specific investigation and review of system performance.
· It suggests a systematic, sequential approach to the software development that begins at the system level and progresses through requirement, analysis, design, testing and support phases.
1.4.8)Requirement Analysis
This phase defines the requirement of the software i.e. it defines the tools and equipments which are used for the development of the software... Following are the hardware and software requirements for building this Application:
(1.6) FUTURE ENHANCEMENTS:-
In the software development process the implementation stage is not the last stage and the development process. As the time progresses user requirements increases and at one time the current software seems unable to cope up with them. Hence regular updating of the software is needed.
(1.7) PLATFORMS:-
Windows XP as an operating system is used in making and running this software.
Ø Front End Used
To make this software jdk1.7 is used as a front-end tool so as to design the application Screen inputs and outputs.
