INTRODUCTION
1.1 Relevance:
Passage Cleaners are used in the class room, home, offices, hospitals etc for cleaning purpose. These passages form the basis for an effective cleaning in the class room, home, hospitals etc environment. Mops are used to clean the passages. The dust and dirty materials is obtained from environment and by humans. Mops are while cleaning the dirty passages, when inhaled by human cause problems. The environment gets dirty and those who are allergic to dirt cannot survive in that environment.
1.2 Present theories and practices or Importance of Project
Based on the problems faced by the cleaners and the students and working staff, a case study was made. The case study illustrated about major issues, caused by dust and dirty materials which can accumulate in the human respiratory system and cause problems. Other than this there are few more issues like dirty feelings, clothes gets dirty and feeling bored etc. Normal mops are used to clean a passages which further extends time consumption while. Moreover dust and dirty materials are not only harming the human but also the machines. Equipments that are used in the class rooms, hospitals, offices like projectors, x-ray machines, office equipments when exposed to the dusts and dirty materials which is not heavy get easily settle on the equipments.
1.3 Scope for the work
The modern passage cleaner can be used in the class rooms, hospitals and offices to avoid the above faced problems and to modernize the class rooms, hospitals, offices.
LITERATURE REVIEW
The common practice of cleaning the passages is by using a normal passage cleaners which is a hand hold object having extra efforts, normally called as mop and cleaning of the passages by wet mops, of course, a technique that has long been employed but is only used when immediate use of the passage is not required. Some efforts have been made to improve the materials used in cleaner, although such improvements still require manual extra manipulation of the cleaner in the cleaning of the passages. The above mentioned cleaning methods cleans the passage, at the same time releases the liquid in to the passage. The dust and dirt particles are coming from environment and human beings which is harmful to health when exposed to larger content. The passage becomes untidy with those dust and dirt particles. Though modern passage cleaners are being manufactured they are having higher costs and difficult to handle than normal cleaners but still there are possibilities for the dust and dirt particle accumulation. Hence our passage cleaner can be used to avoid the above problems and to reduce the extra human work.
FUNDAMENTALS AND BASICS
A passage is a more usable walking surface on which peoples and staff are walks and works. Passages were originally made of smooth black stone. Modern versions are often tiles because the material is considered on the survive.
A passage can simply be a piece of stones arranged in a normal manner. A more modern variation consists of a tile of stone or marbles in Proper Square or rectangular manner. The highest grade mops are made of natural or synthetic fibers like cotton or nylon. Sponge mops are usually having rectangular heads made of natural material like cellulose or a synthetic such as polyurethane foam. Passages may contain a number of tiles in a grid or lining arrangement.
Consumption of mops: a) Colleges: 3-4 per week, b) Office: 1 - 2 per week, c) Hospitals: 5-6 per week In survey, almost 90% of the cleaners were facing problems due to Extra efforts and majority agreed that it happened due to improper way of cleaning the passages. In survey, it is observed that about 33 to 40% of the cleaners were ignorant of the problems caused by the Dust and dirt particles. While conducting survey, almost all the cleaners about 90% agreed, that the Dust and dirt particles released during cleaning of passage by the normal mop in the class, office, hospitals resulted in the loss of concentration and various other reactions from the students, office staff, patients and workers surviving in the passage. In survey it is found that almost all the cleaners agreed to the need of the modern instrument for cleaning the passage, so as to confine the dust and dirt particles released in the process.
DESIGN THEORY
4.1 Parts used in passage cleaner
a) Wet mop
b) Dry mop
c) Bearings
d) Wiper
e) Frame and handle
4.2 Description of important parts:
a) Wet mop:
Wet mop consist of three basic parts the mop head including a frame a mechanical attachment linking the head and frame that may be fixed or may swivel.
b) Dry mop:
A dry mop is designed to pick up dry, loose contamination such as dust, earth and sand from the surface of passage. It consist of yarn or microfiber is used as a first step in cleaning a passage.
c) Bearing:
A bearing is a machine element that constrains relative motion between moving parts to only the desired motion. The design of the bearing may, for example, provide for free linear movement of the moving part or for free rotation around a fixed axis; or, it may prevent a motion by controlling the vectors of normal forces that bear on the moving parts. Many bearings also facilitate the desired motion as much as possible, such as by minimizing friction. Bearings are classified broadly according to the type of operation, the motions allowed, or to the directions of the loads (forces) applied to the parts. The term "bearing" is derived from the verb "to bear"; a bearing being a machine element that allows one part to bear (i.e., to support) another. The simplest bearings are bearing surfaces, cut or formed into a part, with varying degrees of control over the form, size, roughness and location of the surface.
Wiper :
The wiper is used for clean the passage has an unobstructed to for feeling. Most of the transport vehicle, hospitals, college and office .The wiper is used for cleaning purpose.
The inventor of wiper is J.H.Apjohn in 1903.The wiper is made from polymer, rubber and cotton plug etc.
d) Frame and Handle:
A frame for wet and dry mop are also made of stamped metal steel is commonly used but it is placed with zinc to protect it from water damage. In which roller and plate mechanism is used the mechanism integrated into the from along with major axis of the mop and has a lever that parallels the handle so the person operating the mop without bending down.
Handle material is tabular steel coated with plastic or chrome plated is preferred material today.
CONSTRUCTION AND WORKING
The passage cleaner consist of a frame including wet mop, bearings, wiper, dry mops, handle. The two rods of metal which is connected with the frame in which wet mop, bearing, wiper, dry mop connected resp.
The firstly wet mop is attached to frame which is clean the dust and dirty particles with the help of liquids such as antiseptics, water or fennel. Then with the help of wiper remaining water is pushed again in wet mop. Then dry mop is made with special fibers is used to dry the passage completely. The three bearings are attached to frame with help of welding process. With the help of bearing the movement between frames of mops and handles its get easy. Because of this whole attachments the passage is cleaned completely and so that cleaning work becomes effortless and handling is made easily and time saving.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Compared with normal passage cleaner, our passage cleaner has a good effect and runs smooth with good reaction speed. The rate of motion of handle is can be controlled manually in accordance with the requirements of the cleaning speed to suit the requirements of different occasions. Our passage cleaner has a simple structure, easy to operate, easy to obtain raw materials, manufacturing equipment simple process. Its Control functions, and less susceptible to interference, high reliability, ease of use, can make products with high performance and low cost. The product is suitable for large, medium and small class rooms, hospitals, offices etc the promotion of certain significance.
