MEMORY MODULE
Memory module is a broad term used to refer to a series of dynamic random access memory integrated circuits. modules mounted on a printed circuit board and designed for use in personal computers, workstations and servers.
*It can be used to these specific types of memory module:
DIPP : Dual in-line Pin package
SIPP : Single In-line Pin Package
SIMM: Single Inline Memory Module
DIMM: Dual Inline Memory Module
RAMPUS: memory modules are a subset of DIMMs, but are usually referred to as RIMMs
DIPP
In microelectronics a DIP some times called a DIL package
It is an electronic device package with a rectangular housing
And 2 parallel rows of electrical connecting pins.
HISTORY :
The original DIPP was invented by “Bryant buck” in 1964 while working for Fair child
Semiconductor.
*The first device has 14 pins and looked much like they do today.
DIMM
* A DIMM comprises a series of dynamic random access memory integrated
Circuit.
*These modules are mounted on printed circuit board and designed for use
In personal computer ,workstation and servers…
