ABSTRACT
In this paper important aspect of
automation components in future traffic
patterns is the design of autonomous
intelligent cruise control systems. Based
on the idea that minimizes fuel cost, and
accept driver’s need for driving, we have
developed a intelligent control system for
cruise driving vehicle. Here we present
mathematical modelling for linear and non
linear dynamic model of the cruise control
system. PID, state space and artificial
intelligence controller are designed for
linear model.
INTRODUCTION
During the last few decades, modern
societies have been suffering from
problems due to the increase of on road
traffic that created a congested network
and has negative impact on traffic safety,
energy consumption and air pollution.
Automobile cruise control system is
functional as an automatic speed control
for car. Thus it maintains the speed of the
car throughout the journey. The output of
system which is speed is controlled by
controller in order to provide the desired
speed at which car is to be maintained.
Apllying intelligence concept, that is fuzzy
logic to cruise control seems to be an
appropriate way to get this human
behaviour, because driver’s experience can
be transformed easily into rules.
CONTROLLER DESIGN
Fuzzy-PID controller designed in this
work estimated PID’s controller
parameters’s using Fuzzy. Figure shows
block diagram of controller.
CONCLUSION
The smart cruise control presented here is
a combination of both a conventional and
an adaptive cruise control system. This
system is proposed to satisfy multi
objective which can comfort, safety and
fuel economy. Here we designed and
constructed intelligent cruise control
system using Fuzzy controller. For the
result of experiment, the designed system
improves the comfort and fuel
consumption and gives better performance
than the conventional cruise control
system. To get good results, we have to
find realistic fuzzy rule based and place to
test. In the future, we want design AICC
(Autonomous ICC) system that drive itself
without driver in vehicle.
