ABSTRACT
This project deals with design development and fabrication of “MULTI PURPOSE PNEUMATIC HAND GRINDER”. This machine is designed for the purpose of multi-operation i.e. grinding, punching, hacksaw cutting. This machine performs multipurpose operation at same time with required speed and this machine is automatic which is controlled or operated by pneumatic pressure. This model of multi-operational machine may be used in industry and domestic operation which can perform mechanical operation like grinding, punching, and hacksaw cutting of a thin metallic as well as wooden model or body.
1 INTRODUCTION
The increase in demand for the manufacturing products and the opening up of markets worldwide necessitates the production of goods in mass scale. The mass production of products or the service required ever increasing demand for mechanization of production. Productivity means, quickly delivery of the market demand automation of the production systems. The rigidness of such mechanical automatic machines hinders the changing patterns of the consumer expectations. The emergence of flexible manufacturing systems ability suits the changing pastern. The increased use of Numerical Controls machines, Hydraulic and Pneumatic control machines best suited for small and medium volume products and offers the required flexibility in design changes and multiple varieties. The pneumatic and hydraulic machines fill void and add a boon for small and medium scale industries. The pneumatic systems offer other advantages over hydraulic systems which explained subsequently. Since pneumatic systems requires lesser additional cost then other automation systems and freely available air as the medium that is called low cost estimation. So as we are selected the pneumatic systems. The main purpose of machine is used to holed and other operations using the work piece.
1.3 PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

ADVANTAGES
1. Multi-operations are performed at a time.
2. All operations performed by only pneumatic pressure.
3. Size is compact. It requires less space.
4. Time saving.
5. Less man power is required.
6. Low manufacturing and maintenance cost.
7. Increased production.
8. Increased profit.
3 PUNCHING
Punching is a metal forming process that uses a punch press to force a tool, called a punch, through the work piece to create a hole via shearing. The punch often passes through the work into a die. A scrap slug from the hole is deposited into the die in the process. Depending on the material being punched this slug may be recycled and reused or discarded. Punching is often the cheapest method for creating holes in sheet metal in medium to high production volumes. When a specially shaped punch is used to create multiple usable parts from a sheet of material the process is known as blanking. In forging applications the work is often punched while hot, and this is called hot punching.
CONCLUSION
After completing the major project multipurpose pneumatic hand grinder we are much happy and would like to thank our professors’ guide and lecturers and concerned departments who have guided us.
While making this project we have been able to learn a lot and understand the various aspects of multipurpose of pneumatic hand grinder. We can use our knowledge which we get during our study.
