EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Marketing is not only the act of selling but also finding out and satisfying the present and future needs of customers across the various demographic , psychographics and behavioral segment.
The objective of this project is to determine the market potential and basically the market share of the supreme piping system in and around Kolkata through a focused survey and research conducted at various hardware shops and sanitary shops.
The modus operandi of the research was to first selecting the population for the research topic in the form of hardware and piping selling points so that it can reflect a elaborate and vivid picture of the supreme piping systems. the second phase involved the collection of data from those selling points , hardware and sanitary shops about the supreme piping system through administered questionnaire with proper investigation and interaction.
INTRODUCTION
The project Deals with collecting information about the different piping systems that are being used at house and different buildings in and around Kolkata. This will also bring out the market share of Supreme Plastic Piping System.
The information collected are from the selling points like the distributors, retailers, hardware and piping system shops who gave who elucidated the intricacies of different kinds of piping systems which are preferred by the customer and also giving out their opinions purely based on experience and past sales data. The research dished out the details about the huge potential which the company has in different genres or market segments and also the existing market share was also captured and also the future potential of Supreme piping system as well as its competitors.
PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
Supreme Industries Ltd. Plastic Piping System considers West Bengal the project area with colossal potential inhabitated by a huge number of residential and commercial infrastructure present and expected to be increased several manifolds .The research aims at finding out the position of the company and also the current scenario of the competitors in this segment.

LIMITATIONS OF THE PROJECT
It is not a easy job to collect data about the piping systems in and around Kolkata though precautions have been taken to obtain sincere information from the respondents, but still their may be some flaws due to some limitations in the project.Th limitations are like time constraints, area constraints and unwillingness or reluctance from the respondents to share information .I faced number of adversaries of which I would like to mention a few.
• Although doing the project from supreme I was unable to use their brand name as otherwise collection of data from the market would have been difficult.
• Unwillingness to provide information by the selling points:-Most of the times the shops were reluctant to provide information .
• Time was one of the main constraints in this project.As the area neede to be covered was huge and the people was reluctant to divulge details and also the appointment has to be adjusted with their business hours and has to be taken when they are free so time was one of the main constraints.
CONCLUSION
I would like to conclude by stating that being part of Supreme Industries Plastic Piping system division , Kolkata was a great learning experience for me on the personal as well as professional front through the summer project .It was a great platform for practically
experiencing what we had learnt till now .In this project I came to the conclusion that supreme is the market leader in branded plastic piping system especially in the SWR area but there are lot of scopes for enhancing their market share. Whereas in the other segments they need to work a lot in building their market shares because in plumbing system the market is dominated by oriplast , interestingly there is a rising demand for other products from supreme piping system and people wants to be associated with supreme products based upon its quality and brand value.
So I see a great prospect for supreme piping system in the near future.
