Abstracts: In the present day scenario, the major obstacle faced by the power sector is to provide electricity at the rate confined by the government for providing the same to the public for commercial as well as domestic purpose. Slowly and gradually many private industries have also emerged in the field of electricity generation to compete with the State Government Electricity Board in providing the electricity because of which every Generation units has to make sure that the electricity provided by them is at competitive rate. Power plant involving is based on natural gas as a fuel. The natural gas supplied to the plant based is of high pressure. The high pressure natural gas is depressurized according to specification of the gas turbine installed. Due to this depressurization, there is a drastic change even in the temperature of the inlet gas supplied to the gas turbine. In order to increase the temperature of the inlet gas excess amount of energy is to be provided, which results in the consumption of extra amount of fuel. In order to save this energy, the heat exchanger is to be designed which will satisfy the objective of improvement in the heat rate of gas turbine by pre-heating of natural gas with the reuse of energy discarded by the power plant by installing Efficient Heat Exchanger resulting in reduction the consumption of fuel This Project focuses on design of all components of Exchanger keeping in mind allowable stress. Finally evaluation of cost of heat exchanger and average estimation of recover time of this cost.
