Abstracts: This project is for migration from IPv4 to IPv6 IPv6 in computer Lab Regional Telecom Training Center (RTTC), Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Ahmedabad. IPV6 is a next generation internetworking protocol version 6 .It consists of 16 bytes (octets), it is 128 bits long .It specifies hexadecimal colon notation. It is mainly design to overcome ipv4.It is an internet layer protocol for packet switched internetworking and provides end to end datagram multiple IP network. Here the internet operates by transferring data in small packets between hosts which are independently routed across networks. Here each host on internet requires an IP address to communicate. IPV6 was developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to deal with this long anticipated ipv4 address exhaustion. IPv6 provides both the infrastructure for the Next Generation Internet and a means to deploy new services that leverage the enhanced and new features of the protocol. New Features like Auto-configuration, better support for QoS, Mobility Security and Route Aggregation.
