The objective is to design and implement an information system which allows tourists to consume location and context aware services on mobile devices. The mobile Cityguide is an application that would ease the task of traveling in an unfamiliar place. The aim behind the application development is to provide the relevant information on the mobile device. Today mobile based applications are becoming very popular. Our project comprise of a simple mobile application where we have developed a mobile software which can be easily downloaded from our website and installed in the java enabled cellphones. The mobile user interface is very elegant and simple enough to be understood
by any user.
In the presented approach, we as a developers had to deal with the limitations of mobile devices, the unreliability of the network, and the different user’s interest for the selection and the delivery of multimedia in-formation to mobile devices. For this, a modular platform for mobile location-aware applications and a software framework for the generation of personalized content are integrated.
The mobile environment sets hard and partially conflicting requirements for programming and software architectures. Applications should have high quality and adaptability to various kinds of environments, while the memory and energy consumption should be minimized. Mobile users are not accustomed to crashing devices and bugs are not acceptable.
We have examine various design patterns and strategies to implement interactive content on mobile devices. Each pattern has its unique role in creating a maintainable and reusable framework.
