INTRODUCTION TO NEI
Founded in year 1946 by renowned industrialist Late Shri B.M. Birla under the name of “NATIONAL BEARING COMPANY LIMITED”.
With a modest start of 30,000 bearings in 19 sizes, the first bearing was manufactured in 1950.
This figure has increased to manufacturing of nearly 3.8 million bearings per month in over 500 different sizes ranging from 6mm bore to 1300mm outer diameter.
Company has the capacity to manufacture bearings up to 2000mm outer diameter.
The name of the company changed to “NATIONAL ENGINEERING INDUSTRIES LIMITED” in 1958 after getting industrial licenses for other vital industries and manufacturing of Roller Bearing Axle Boxes for Railway Rolling Stock, Steel Balls, Tapered Roller Bearings, Spindle Inserts etc.

Today, NEI is manufacturing wide variety and range of bearings such as Ball Bearings, Steel Balls, Tapered Roller Bearings, Cylindrical Roller Bearings & Axle Boxes for Railway Rolling Stock including Spherical Roller Bearings, Cartridge Tapered Roller Bearings and Large Diameter Bearings in separate fully equipped factories.

OVALITY CHECKING
Ovality checking is done to long diameter and thin width outer race of bearing.
Ovality checking is done automatically by ovality checking machine.
This machine checks the ovality of outer race and then put correct one to one side , wrong one to other side.
Now these outer race of bearing which are found oval in shape again taken to dial gauge for checking the ovality reading.
After this nails are put in between the outer race.
And again these outer race’s are put into different furnace.
After sometime all outer race’s are taken out and get cool.
This is how the ovality of outer race of bearing is removed.
