INTRODUCTION TO PNEUMATICS
PNEUMATICS :-
Pneumatics is a branch of technology, which deals with the study and application of, use of pressurized gas to affect mechanical motion
Gases Used:-
Compressed Atmospheric air
OFN (Oxygen-Free-Nitrogen)
PNEUMATIC Vs HYDRAULICS
Both are applications of FLUID power
Pneumatics uses compressible gas such as AIR.
while Hydraulic uses relatively incompressible liquid such as OIL.
ADVANTAGES OF PNEUMATICS
Simplicity of design and control
Reliability
Storage
Safe
MAIN CONSTITUENTS OF THE PNEUMATIC BIKE
Air compressor
Pneumatic cylinder
Air motor
Bike (specimen)
Air compressor
An air compressor is an device that converts electrical power or gas into kinetic energy by pressurizing and compressing air which is then released in quick bursts.
PNEUMATIC CYLINDER
Pneumatic cylinder stores the compressed air.
It acts as a fuel tank.
It regulates the speed by means of metering valve which meters the flow of air
WORKING
When the cylinder valve is released ,high pressure compressed Air enters into the air motor where the air pressure is converted into the rotary motion thereby helps in rotation of the rear wheel
CONCLUSION
Now a day the earth is facing the biggest problem of global warming the major cause is environmental pollution. Fossil fuels are major contributors to the pollution in order to irradiate this problem ,the solution is hybrid electrical vehicles but again they emit some pollutants and it is not a complete solution. The compressor air technology that is zero emission vehicles is the best feasible alternative and the complete solution of this problem.
