Renewable Energy Resources and their System
Abstract
Energy plays an important role in human society. As a result of technological and industrial development, the demand
for energy is rapidly increasing. Existing power sources are mainly conventional energy sources, fossil fuel which contribute
heavily to greenhouse gases emission. Setting up of new power plants is inevitably dependent on import of highly volatile fossil
fuels.
Hence now focus is shifted to renewable energy sources. The main resources of renewable energy: wind, water, solar,
hydropower, geothermal energy. Most renewable energy systems are clean sources of energy that have a much lower
environmental impact than conventional energy system. One of the major advantages with the use of renewable energy is that as it
is renewable it is therefore sustainable and so will never run out. Renewable energy produces little or no waste products such as
carbon dioxide and other chemical pollutants so has minimal impact on environment. Sustainable resources meet our present needs
without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their needs, and these resources are having limit negative
environmental and social impacts. This paper describes renewable energy resources, their importance and their system.
