ABSTRACT
Characterization of four types of FeS2-cathodes for the Li/CPE/pyrite battery was carried out by SEM, X-ray
photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and electrochemical methods. Analysis of the experimental data,
suggests that for pyrite-based cathodes (obtained by casting, doctor-blade technique and KE sputtering) it is the mass transport
of iron cations througout the Li2FeS2 that slows the charge rate and creates a charge overvoltage.
