Abstract:
In the present investigation the flow visualization of air jet impingement in a rectangular computational domain is described in a detailed manner. In the present investigation the jet width and height of the rectangular computational domain are considered as constant one. The inertia force is considered as the variable parameter. The reattachment length, length of the vortex, and center of the vortex and horizontal velocity profile for different Reynolds number are predicted in a vivid manner by considering air as the fluid. It is concluded that, the size of the vortices increases with the increase of Reynolds number. While increasing the Reynolds number the vortices are moving in downstream direction.
Keywords: Impingement, Reynolds number, reattachment length, Horizontal velocity profile, Vortex center.
