Abstracts: Wire EDM is most progressive non-conventional machining process in mechanical industries. There are so many parameter affect the performance of Wire EDM. Few of them are investigated in this theses work. The effect of process parameter like Pulse ON time, Pulse OFF time, Voltage, Wire Feed and Wire Tension on Material Removal Rate, Surface Roughness, Kerf and Gap current is studied by conducting an experiment. The experiment is conducted by keeping constant Peak current at its maximum level. The surface methodology is used to analyze the experimental data. The Pulse ON time, Pulse OFF time, Voltage, Wire Feed and Wire Tension are used as Factors and Material Removal Rate, Surface Roughness, Kerf and Gap current is taken as a response. The percentage contribution of each factor and its effect is found out as ANOVA. The optimum level for maximum cutting rate, minimum surface roughness, minimum Kerf and maximum Gap current is found out as a single response and multi response optimization with desirability function in Minitab 16 software. The modeling of process parameter is done in the form of Response Surface and Response Contour. The AISI H13 tool steel is used as work piece material in the form of square bar.
