Energy Policy Act defines “economic dispatch” to mean “the operation of generation facilities to produce energy at the lowest cost to reliably serve consumers, recognizing any operational limits of generation and transmission facilities”

Maximizing power Generated by the Power System
The action of finding the best solution
Methodologies for improving the efficiency of a power production process
PROBLEM STATEMENT
EVOLUTIONARY METHODS HAVE BECOME MORE POPULAR TO SOLVE LOAD DISPATCH IN POWER SYSTEM IN THE PAST DECADES AND EVEN THE PRESENT.THIS WAS DUE TO THE SHORT COMINGS OF TRADITIONAL AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE METHODS THAT COULD NOT PROFER A MORE GLOBAL SOLUTION.
