ABSTRACT:
Energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind are gaining interest as the world’s power demands increase and non-renewable resources deplete.Solar energy nodes vary in power ratings from 100-200W micro inverter,1-2KW multi string inverter and Mega watts Central Inverter.With the renewable content growing as a persentage of the total utility power,increased control and monitoring of power prodused,irrespective of the power ratings,is desired.Control and communication pose unique challenges on system design of a smart grid-renewable eregy node using a heterogeneous microcontrollar.
The monitoring of the photovoltaic systems is essential for their reliable operation and maximum energy yield.The easiest system performance verification is done by reading the parameters displayed on the LED screen, which is an integral part of almost every grid-tie inverter.The professional systems for monitoring and control can collect,store and analyze the most important parameters of a PV system:voltage and current of the PV arrays,AC power,Grid voltage,Battery Voltage,and load persentage on inverter ete.
