FOUNDATION
Foundation is lower part of the building and directly contact with ground and which transmit the loads to the ground.
Generally raft foundation is used for “Assembly hall”.
CONSTRUCTION FOUNDATION WORK
SLAB – It is a concrete pad poured directly on the ground, having thickness of 4”- 6”.
FLOOR – It is used for the purpose of sub-dividation the portion between basement level and roof level.
WALLS – Most visible part of a building.
The thickness of wall is 9” to 1’ 5”.
FOUNDATION
Foundation is the lower part of the structure which are direct contact with the ground.
It is sub-structure which supports its super-structure.
Types of foundation :-
Shallow Foundation
Pad or column footings (Isolated or Combined)
Strip footings
Trench footings
Slab on grade with thickened edge
Interior footings for bearing walls
Mat (Raft) footings (Thickened slabs)
Raft Foundation :-
A raft Foundation is a combined footing that covers the entire area beneath a structure and support all the wall and column.
