introduction
Usha Martin Ltd. is engaged in specialty steel and value added steel products business.
It is one of the leading wire rope manufacturing companies in the world.
Mr. B.K. Jhawar, the Chairman, established Usha Martin Limited in 1960 with the Wire Ropes Plant, Ranchi.
It started with collaboration between M/S Martin Black, Scotland and Usha Automobile & Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Calcutta in 1960.
Research Objectives
Mainly the study aims to find out the impact of LOGISTICS on Usha Martin ltd. But it also determines strength, weakness, opportunity and threat factors of the company.
To find out the Marketing Mix of Usha Martin Limited.
To find out the problem faced in logistics and transportation and try to solve it.
Service Improvement of Usha Martin Limited.
Limitations of the study
The project has to be completed in 45 days, which is not enough time to cover all the constraints. So time was the major constraints in conducting the study.
The study needs to complete within a specified time and in restricted areas. So the findings cannot be generalized as a whole
The study needs to complete within the premises of the company.
Data collected in this project is provided by only the company.
recommendations
Company should go for diversification under its umbrella.
Usha Martin should also take serious considerations on the E-selling fronts like Metal Junction platforms.
The transporters currently associated with Usha Martin should be more involved like acquainting them with their forecasts etc.
They could also go for outsourcing the logistics services via a 3rd party logistics.
