Abstracts: The rapid growth in vehicles population has put enormous strains in all urban roads in Indian cities with population between 1 to 2 million. The major factors influencing public transport ridership are poor service quality and more traveling time. Transportation is a common thread in the quality of life of the residents of any community. People need to move safely and efficiently between their homes, work places, shopping opportunities, and recreational activities. Traffic congestion is one of the most important and critical problems in most of large cities in developing countries. This is due to high urbanization, increase in number of vehicles, rapid growth of population, improvement of income level, inefficient public transport service, poor traffic management etc. The study is the public transit system in Bardoli. It includes an analysis of various regional transportation modes and trip generation. The main focus is on the study of public transit systems for future in Bardoli. In general, an efficient, affordable and environmental friendly public transport system reduces the increasing usage of private vehicles and results in saving in travel time and vehicle operating cost (VOC) as well as improvement in environment.
