INTRODUCTION
Queuing theory is a collection of mathematical models of various queuing system.
Queuing theory is the mathematics of waiting lines.
Queuing theory is also known as ‘waiting line’ theory.
Queues or waiting lines arises(form) when the demand for service facility exceeds the capacity of that facility.
It is extremely useful in prediction and evaluating system performance
EVOLUTION OF QUEUING THEORY
Queuing theory had its beginning in the research work of a ‘DANISH ENGINEER’ named A.k.ERLANG in 1909.
Owes its devolvement to A.K. ERLANG- efforts to analyze telephone traffic congestion with the aim of satisfying the randomly arising demand for the service of ‘COPEN HAGEN ‘ telephone system in 1909 .
