Attrition, also known as employee turnover, or employee defection, is an industrial term used to describe loss of employees or Man power.
ATTRITION OCCURS DUE TO…
Ineffective managers and management.
Employee’s ineffective compatibility with supervisors.
Inadequate working environment and conditions.
Lack of pay for performance.
Loss of opportunity for employee’s advancement.
Pushing employees into contracts, agreements or bonds.
Hiring over qualified people in corporate by the management.
FINDINGS
From the study it has found that 36% of employees get dissatisfy due to their salary, 20% due to work pressure, 14% due to work environment.
40% of respondents say, if they change their job the reason will be due to lack in growth opportunities & 36% due to family issues.
70% of respondents have freedom to convey their problems to the Top-level management.
42% of respondents say that there is a decrease level in their dissatisfaction factors & 32% say there is a little bit decrease.
From the Chi-square test it is found that there is significant difference regarding Employees freedom to convey problems and Considerations for employee creativity.
From the study 34% of respondents says the company to be improved in work environment & 20% says employee motivation.
CONCLUSION
Whenever a well-trained & well-adapted employee leaves the organization, it creates a vacuum. So the organization loses the skills and business relationship.
From the study it is identified that, the employee’s put forward their reasons to change their job are Lack of growth opportunities & Family issues.
The study concludes that, to reduce attrition, Pondicherry Polymers Private Ltd should create more opportunities for the growth of their employees through adopting new innovative technology, effective training programs and the company can recruit people who are around puducherry, so that the family issue factor will not lead to attrition in future.
